Choosing the price of a shirt can be tough. After all very few people have actually SOLD their own shirts let alone tried fundraising with them!
Things to keep in mind when pricing out your shirt cost:
- Your supporters - How much do you think they would like to buy a shirt for?
- How much you would like to raise - higher shirt cost the more you raise, keep in mind that your shirt shouldn’t be priced too high.
- What types of apparel you are choosing - Premium or Basic. To see the differences please go here: What merchandise should I select?
- Apparel Variety - Are you choosing hoodies, sweatshirts, tote bags etc - Price these accordingly. (You will do this on Step 2 found here:
We have found that campaigns are the most successful when they price their shirts between $20 - $30. You may be able to get away with a little above $30 for the premium options. But generally, try and keep T-Shirt prices around $20 - $30. With other apparel, like hoodies and tote bags, you will also want to have a separate price in mind.
Hooded sweatshirts are inherently more expensive due to the cost of materials. Price the your hoodies higher but not too much higher. On the flip side, there are tote bags which you can price a little lower, keep in mind that these are similarly priced as basic t-shirts. Not everyone wants to buy a tote bag for $25, so try and price them closer to $20.
All in all you should try and not price your products TOO high. This can dissuade supporters from purchasing and supporting you. Remember we do offer an alternative to raising money only with shirts, we allow users to add an additional donation to their order. You can find our more on that feature here: Additional Donations on your campaign.
